The successful 1998 California Public Utility Commission funded project to help get air conditioners operating at peak performance using the CheckMe!TM engineering evaluation is now available to you. Save energy, save the environment and get your air conditioner operating properly.
You benefit from analysis based on government funded research
Two thirds of America's home air conditioners are not operating efficiently because of air flow and/or refrigerant problems. This has been confirmed by EPA funded research and major utility companies across the country. "Wear and tear, improper engineering and inconsistent maintenance habits all contribute to the problem", according to John Proctor, a State of California licensed professional engineer, and President of Proctor Engineering Group. John Proctor has been working with state and federal energy departments and the EPA on energy efficient design for 20 years.
Save on electrical costs
An inefficient system translates into lost money for consumers. Now, CheckMe!TM, a software program developed by Proctor Engineering Group in San Rafael, CA., allows home owners and technicians to access expert engineering analysis on their home's central air-conditioning system. CheckMe! is capable of diagnosing the status of a cooling system's refrigerant charge and air flow. "These two elements are key to air-conditioning efficiency," says Proctor. "The analysis is invaluable to the homeowner. Their cooling bill could literally be double what it should be due to the inefficient air conditioning system."

more technical information here.
CheckMe! is simple and convenient
The process is simple and convenient for homeowners. A CheckMe! certified air-conditioning technician visits the home to test the system and takes a series of measurements. The technician then dials the CheckMe! toll free phone number and relays the series of measurements to the CheckMe! operator. The operator runs those numbers through the software and within two minutes the homeowner knows how their system is performing.
"The software gives the homeowner and technician recommendations for needed air flow and refrigerant charge repairs. The technician informs the homeowner of how much the repairs will cost. It is up to the homeowner to decide whether or not to get the system repaired," Proctor said.
Buying a New Central Air Conditioner?
Proctor Engineering Group has CheckMe!TM Install© available for HVAC contractors to use when installing your new air conditioner. If you are considering investing thousands of dollars for a new air conditioner, make sure your contractor uses CheckMe!TM Install© when installing your new central air conditioner. CheckMe!TM Install© provides the HVAC installer with computerized analysis to ensure that your air conditioner is operating at optimum efficiency. Certified CheckMe!TM installers have the CheckMe!TM Install© software on their laptop computer when they come to your home.
